Single This Valentine? – Fall In Love With ‘Gym’!

5 Ways Enjoying Fitness Is Just As Good As Falling In Love!

Exhilaration, euphoria, a racing heart. Being in love literally changes our body chemistry. Another thing that’s part of human nature is being active – and the plethora of benefits that come with being fit prove that it’s crucial to our wellbeing. Here’s what makes the two similar!

1. It’s all in the chemistry
When we first meet someone special we know something is stirring with natural feelings we can’t ignore. Say hello to dopamine and endorphins – natural ‘feel good’ chemicals produced when we feel overwhelming joy. And they make us yearn for more.

We also release endorphins when we exercise – and can become as addicted to it as we can be addicted to love. The feelings of euphoria and addiction are scientifically proven – exercise can feel as good as falling in love

2. Its about finding the one for you!
There are so many different styles of training to choose from that that first initial feeling might not be the lasting feeling. It’s all about whether it’s right for you. You may have enjoyed one particular fitness class, but after going for several weeks it’s become taxing on your previously injured knee. Luckily for members of Flame Fit Gym, our personal trainers can help you choose the right form of training for you which will save you time bring a lifelong love of taking care of yourself and your health and fitness.

3. Challenges: No love affair was ever easy and straightforward
The same goes for fitness. If you’re strength training, for example, don’t be put off by one bad session. Shake off any feelings of failure and try again next week. What was once hard will become easy eventually – like any good relationship – it requires patience and effort!

4. They can both hurt
The old motto ‘no pain no gain’ is said time and time again in gyms. It can be the same when we’re in love. We sometimes have our hearts broken by a rejecting loved one, but it can make us stronger for our next experience.

5. They both make you live longer
Did you know that your heart races three times faster when you see your loved one? Being in a relationship reduces loneliness, makes us happy and helps us live longer. Working out regularly also brings longevity of life, helps with blood supply, overall improvement of health and even helps us look younger!
